WELCOME
Get ready for an exciting and fun-filled session at Summer STEM Camp! Our camp is designed to enhance your child’s understanding of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics at the beautiful Camp Tycony. Thanks to the generous support from the United Way serving Howard and Tipton Counties, we have removed any financial obstacles for families, allowing local kids to simply enjoy a week of STEM activities. Applications this year are online. If you have any questions or need help applying, please stop by the Downtown YMCA Membership Desk. Spots are limited per session and there is a limit of 1 session per child.

COST: $50.00 per session (1 Session per camper max)

STEM CAMP Curriculum
Camp Programs and Activities
This STEM Camp is designed to enrich your child’s understanding of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Your child will participate in hands-on, STEM activities led by our STEM counselors at our beautiful camp Tycony.

Archery
We use Genesis compound bows to teach campers the art involved in archery. Campers will learn the meaning behind: “How do you shoot a 50? One arrow at a time.” and “Aim small, miss small.”
Hiking
We have 52 acres of woods, hills, and creek banks to travel. Discover “Dead Man’s Hill” and “Sandy Beach”. Discover shells, rocks, sticks, turtles, and frogs. We put the Nature in Nature Hike.
Acting/Drama
Show off your acting skills as you perform plays, skits, and monologues. You could even write your own scenes.
Creative Arts
What can you create with your imagination and a few craft supplies? Come find out.
Athletics
Ball games, tag games, and circle games are available for every camper to dive deeper into being active.

Ready? The best summer ever is right around after you fill out the STEM Camp online. Our team will contact you regarding acceptance, session availability, and payment. The NIPSCO STEM Camp is $50.00 for one session (max 1 session per child). There is no financial assistance/scholarship available for the STEM camps, however, if a family is experiencing a hardship, they are encouraged to reach out to us via email and we will do our best to work with the family.
